TakeCare's Office is Now Open

TakeCare office was officially opened in  a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at 1630 on April 17,2010. The chief guest of the ceremony was Mr Mohamed Abdulla (BAP).

The invitees of the historical meeting included members from the local business community of Hithadhoo, EXCOM members of both TakeCare and Maavahi, general members of TakeCare,supporters and will wishers.

Community Meeting by HRCM

TakeCare has assisted The Human Rights Commission of the Maldives in organizing community meetings in Addu Atoll. The meetings were arranged as part of the ‘Rapid Assessment of the Status of Human Rights in the Health Sector’ by the Human Rights Comission of the Maldives. In addition to the consultant of the meeting Dr Sanjay Naik, Project Officer of HRCM Zeenath Mohamed,  Research Officer  Shaufa Ahmed Saeed facilitated the community meeting. 

TakeCare hopes that the input of the community would be taken into serious consideration and the report of HRCM based upon it, would results in proper and highly anticipated reforms in the health sector of Addu and Maldives.

The community meeting of Hithadhoo was held at 1130hours at  Souther Province Office, while Hulhumeedhoo Meeting was held at Hulhumeedhoo Atoll Hospital. 
TakeCare would like to thank the province office, Meedhoo Councillour, and the In-charge of Feydhoo Health Centre for the cooperation extended in organizing the meetings.
TakeCare is also grateful for the participants of this session including the NGOs Maahahi, AWDI and EASY.

 
TakeCare's Action Plan 2010-2011

The EXCO of TakeCare has endorsed the action plan for the year 2010 in an EXCO in a meeting held on February 23. TakeCare board members Ali Nizar, Ahmed Shareef, Shiruhaan Sodhig, Abdulla Waheedh,Ali Nizar and Numa Ibrahim were present in the EXCO meeting.

TakeCare is optimistic in implementing the projects, programs and activities stated in our annual action plan successfully, and hope that the generous contributions and assistance of our volunteers, members, stakeholders and sponsors continue throughout this year.

TakeCare meeting with HRC

TakeCare participated in a meeting with Human Rights Commission of the Maldives held at the Southern Province office at 2000 hours on 9th Feburary 2009.

The main of this meeting was to consult NGOs of Hithadhoo to review the efforts made to prompt protect and expand the promotion and protection Human Rights at a local level. In this discussion questions forwarded by HRC in under the themes of social security, education system, water, prisons, and NGO development were answered by the attendees. In addition to this HRC answered questions posed by TakeCare and other NGOs on relevant issues concerning protection and promotion of Human Rights in Hithadhoo and Addu. The information acquired from the discussion would be used in the compiling a National Report of Maldives for UN’s Universal Periodic Review.

Furthermore HRC appreciated and expressed their gratitude for the collaborative work done by TakeCare recently with Human Rights Commission on issues of concern. Human Rights Commission was particularly thankful for the cooperation offered by TakeCare while HRC was trying to get information about a recent hunger strike by prisoners in GAN.
